The Move

I think sometimes that my life is like a great rock in the desert that just won’t move, no matter how much muscle I apply to move it.

Call it a dilemma, a pain, a bad memory, a sin, a hurt inflicted on me, and so on – whatever the struggle, I just can’t get it out of my life. The rock of the impasse before me won’t budge.

So, instead of muscling up to move it, I do what I can with my hands… and let go.

This is what I’m learning right now. To let go. Let go of the great rock weighting me down.

I spend so much wasted energy trying to solve the mysteries of life by thinking I can move the rock, when the answer is to let God and His divine glory be mysterious, and to worship Him in awe.

And, in humility, with courage, simply let the rock be God’s, and move on by.
