God can turn the most painful tragedies into blessings – from a devastating loss into the opportunity to heal and grow again.
Sometimes the sliver is so painful in my foot that I don’t realize the Hospital in the Clouds holds the cure – not just to remove the trim sliver, but to remedy my horizon as well.
What is suffering if not the loss of life? And what is eternity if not the gift of rebirth?
I hunger to see my loved ones healed. And in their healing, to be healed as well. The sliver which is jabbed into me is taking me away from the hope of that healing.
But the Hospital is so much greater. In it, there is a room for every kind of pain. And in those rooms, splashed into the windows, is the fresh sunlight of a healing dawn.
We hurt. And yet we are healed. That is the miracle of Jesus.
