Friends for Life

There’s comfort in knowing that when we get to heaven, we will be best friends with everyone. That deep longing we have to connect with others will be satisfied. What will that look like? Well, I can only imagine the pain of loneliness we feel now will be banked in the arms of Jesus, and He will heal us. And our desires – our heart’s yearnings we long to share with those whom we long to love – will be a kind of commerce that will fuel the Ages. We simply will be so alive with joy that whatever we go about doing will have an electric effect, as we each in the Body of Christ zap the other as become freer and on. And the words we use, made free by wisdom, will intensely deepen our hope to come. Yes, we may be lonely now. But God knows how lonely each of us are. He’s known it from the beginning. And one day, the beginning of our friendships will go on, unending, ever deepening, like a waterfall in the sky.
