Animal Hunger

It can’t be true that many people feel disposessed and alienated, estranged on earth, feeling that their identity, their core soul, is nothing more than a dry brick piled underneath a mountain of bricks. It is easy for us to forget who we are, and what our lives are meant for.

We crave a vision. To see something great on the horizon. An impossible dream that has been given to us. A vision like that shapes our purpose, our identity, our choices and actions, gives us courage to step out into the unknown, sharpens our moral compass so that we want to do what is right in the eyes of God.

Is there a vision like that? Of which we can all glean? Where would it take us?

I’m trembling now, because the only vision big enough for something so good is found gazing on bended knee at the feet of Jesus.

We will always swim small. But Jesus catches us in His net. He knows our movements, our personal behaviors and intentions. He knows how we breathe and where we dream. And He is very good.

Let His vision guide us. It’s the only vision we can trust.
