I’m reminded that life is at times a climb to a higher level, a series of levels higher than the one before. And in that ascent, the journey is not often a straight shot to the top, but a series of landings.
I push and move and rise, only to find myself at a spot where I need to rest before I make the push to the next landing. Mt. Everest is climbed this way. So let me not make the assumption that my dream must all be acquired in one steady uninterrupted string of events, all at once; rather, let me build a little here, a little there, move some, and rest. And then, after a nourishing rest on that landing, let me set out again, full of hope, courage and optimism.
In a story, events and scenes are grouped into sequences. One series of five or six scenes will build to a mini climax before the viewer is given a new batch of the next sequence of scene. I believe any quest or endeavor in life is carried out in a similar fashion.
Have the courage to build, to keep going to that next landing, to rest and regroup and then to continue on with the journey.
