Plans for Change

I fear change. But when I do, I am reminded that change itself often leads to a deeper stability. The places I pine for in my past, like my old junior high school, where our 8th grade basketball team went 10-2, or the Mother lode, where I loved to get a giant cinnamon roll on Saturday mornings – these have been shuttered. The whole course of human history is one of perpetual change.

But as I change, let me be changed by our unchanging Lord, Jesus Christ. One day, when Jesus returns, He will establish a kingdom that will be both dynamic and true. That world is where I want to be made free, and where I will feel the true freedom to live and grow and be alive, unburdened forever by change.
