Answering the Call

Could it be that God calls everyone, but not everyone responds the same way? I wonder if some people, desperate for something more – something better than this broken world, people wanting help, all the help they can get, because they know they need it – these people might be sitting next their phones, hoping… hoping for the doctor to call them, hoping to be called. And when God calls them, they are overjoyed with gratitude, and thankfulness, and a willingness to respond to his care. Maybe other people get a call, too – but they’re out away from their phones, not caring for or wanting a call, because they know they don’t need help. They may even be preoccupied with doing things they shouldn’t be doing. God called them, too, same as everyone. But they didn’t answer the call. I don’t know if this illustration makes sense or is accurate.
