The Lord tells us in His Word that we ought to prepare our fields for the harvest. In faith, we therefore take action and plow and sow and water and weed and so on, toiling in the hope and belief that the Lord’s promise is true – that if we obey and serve Him and work our fields, then He’ll shower us with a blessing. This is good news!
But I’ve found that sometimes the best and only action that I can take in faith is to exude an attitude of joy. Life can be very painful at times. I don’t feel like doing much of anything when I’m hurting inside. Or, on the outside.
To serve others by sharing joy with them – even when the day has not gone well, or even when I’m not 100% physically, mentally, socially or emotionally, is a profound victory and testament of one’s faith.
Simply by choosing to be joyful can reap some of life’s greatest blessings, not just in the moment itself, but in the full assurance that God is bringing with Him His untold blessings and unimaginable rewards.
