Colors in the Sky

Some days, it feels so gray. Sadness. Weight. Hard decisions. Loneliness. A neverending unlit tunnel in the earth. Those days feel like they’ll never end, like they’re the only reality. But they’re not.

In Jesus, there’s joy. Unmitigated joy. Impossible, Freeing, overwhelming gladness of joy. How do I get that joy, when I’m foundering in a very deep swamp?

I give Him the swamp. I give Him the whole thing, my every burden. I let Him lift what I cannot lift. It’s not up to me to solve my divine problems. My only hope is to let Jesus unburden me, through faith, in grace, out of His wholesome mercy. In Him alone I have all the colors in the sky.
