The Grace Doctor

Too often I get caught up in trying to do and live in perfection. That I perform in my job at the highest standard, morally, and in all other ways. When I hold myself to a standard of perfection spiritually, only the worst things happen. I break. I break down. My well oiled machine comes screeching to a dry, hot, oil-less hault. The only way to be repaired and to live again righteously is to cast off my self-righteousness and accept God’s profound grace. I don’t need to be the rock, because Jesus, my Rock, did all the work on the cross. His grace is the oil that keeps me moving. His deep, deep grace fills in all the mysterious things in my spiritual soul that makes me perfect in His eyes. My hope today is that I can choose rest, and glide along, in Jesus.
